Topology says...
"A DONUT IS A COFFEE MUG."
This is because of the surface's
Euler characteristic.
Topology deals with continuous deformations of surfaces, typed by something called their Euler characteristic, which depends on a surface's vertices, faces, and edges.
If two objects' Euler characteristics are equal, like a coffee mug and a donut, then they are topologically the same.
